Treasure Chests (New!)

Each region of the map (Dark Forest, Swamps, Wilderness, and the Barrens) has one or more Treasure Chests. To unlock these chests, you will need a key specific dropped by NPCs in that region. These keys can be traded or sold on the Trading Post. The Swamp, Dark Forest, and Barrens chests are Tier 1, and the Wilderness chests are Tier 2 (roughly 2-4x the rewards). Upon unlocking the chest, there are a few outcomes that are possible - an empty chest, knowledge drops, treasure (a stream of Pile of Gems worth 400 Royal Favor pts each), etc. Loot from chests is scattered on the ground on open, and are immediately visible as global loot.
Home Teleport (New!)
You can now cast a channeled spell in the Magic navigation tab called Home Teleport. This will teleport you to your current home location. To change your home location, interact with the Waypoint stone in either the Capital City or New Mortis. Next time you cast Home Teleport, you will teleport to the Waypoint you chose.
Dungeons (New!)

A new open world Dungeon has opened up to the Northwest of the map. There are various entrances / exits to this dungeon scattered throughout the overworld, new bosses / npcs, etc.
Be careful when exiting a dungeon - depending on how overweight you are, there might be a chance that a Cyclops finds you and hunts you down!
Portals cannot be created in Dungeons or Tier 4 regions. Cyclops cannot spawn in Dungeons.
Traps (New!)

Traps can be constructed at higher Engineering levels and can be set throughout the game world to give you an edge over your competition. There are 3 different types of traps - Poison Traps, Tree Sapling Traps, and Pit Traps, each with their unique effect.
For more, see this doc: Engineering (New!)
Dynamic Combat XP (New!)
The higher your defensive bonuses (from Equipment) while gaining Combat XP, the more Defensive levels (Hitpoint, Defense) you will gain, relative to Offensive levels (Attack / Strength / Magic / Ranged) XP. if you want to go for more of a glass cannon build, you will need to level up combat stats while wearing equipment with lower defensive bonuses, or go naked.
Energy System
Upon character creation, players will start with 160k Energy. This energy is drained on a per-minute basis while outside the main Cities (Capital City, New Mortis). Refining Skills (crafting/alchemy/etc.) do not drain energy, neither does trading / other activities inside of a City. Energy restores every 8 minutes, whether or not the player is online. Approximately 6 hours of Energy will be available every 24hr period. Logging in and out will drain a minute's worth of energy, to prevent exploits around consumption. Creating a Teleport Portal will cost 100 energy. 180k Energy is restored over the course of a 24hr period.
To gain Energy and up your stakes, you can use an Energy Orb that can be purchased with ETH.
Banks

Banks are located in city centers + settlements and can be used to store items & equipment. Items stored in your bank will not be lost on death. Click on Arthur to open the bank.
Weapons & Combat
There are 3 main combat types in Gold Rush: Melee, Ranged, and Magic. Each combat type has a wide array of unique weapons and armor to choose to wield.
Melee - Swords and heavy armor to get in close and brawl with enemies.
Ranged - Bows and crossbows and medium to keep your foes at a distance as you attack.
Magic - Staffs and light armor. Powerful spells to inflict huge damage to your enemies. Spells require magical Charges in order to be used.
Weapon Niches

Death
Items in your Inventory will be dropped to the ground on death, excluding Coins (gold) and basic tools. If other players are nearby, they can immediately loot your items. Weapons and armor will lose all durability when dropped on death and will need to be repaired at the Repair Station before they can be used.
Resources

During Gold Rush, you will extract and refine resources gathered from skilling. Throughout the game world, there are resource nodes of varying tiers. The higher the tier of resource, the more dangerous the area where it spawns. See Resources for more.
Inventory, Item Weight

Most items that you can loot have weight. Your inventory is not limited by the number of item slots you have but is limited by the amount of weight you can carry. Being over your max weight capacity will result in negative effects that will limit your mobility and make you a target for Roaming Threats.
Trading Post (Grand Exchange)

The Trading Post / Auction House can be found located near the bank in the Capital City center, as well as near the bank in New Mortis. Here you are able to place buy and sell orders for items you loot while adventuring for other players to purchase.
Durability & Repair

All weapons, armor, and tools have a durability level. This level gradually decreases as these items are used. When the durability of an item is depleted it can no longer be equipped or used. To repair an item, you can visit a Scrapping Table (found near the Skilling buildings) and repair either a single item or all of your repairable items, in exchange for Coins.
General Store

The General Store is run by Gokhan and can be found in both major cities. They offer a place to sell your items quickly for Coins at the base gold value. You can also purchase items other players have sold to the General Store, with a markup.
Coca Leaves and Experience Lamps

There are items in Gold Rush that can help you gain an edge over your fellow players by consuming them. You can find these items as drops from high tier monsters in the world.
Coca Leaf - Gives you a temporary speed boost at the cost of some health and your sobriety. Can be used to escape dangerous situations.
Experience Lamp - An expensive treasure that will allow you to gain XP in a selected skill after using it. The amount of XP gained from using a lamp is the higher of 1000 XP or your current skill level * 30.
Roaming Threats

Roaming threats are amongst the most formidable threats you can face in Cambria. They spawn exclusively in higher tier regions (to the edge of the map) and pose a significant threat to players while they are in these zones.
Banshees - upon being alerted, Banshees will scan for any moving enemies for a duration. If there are still players moving at the end of this scan, the Banshee will emit a bloodcurdling scream, summoning hordes of enemies to attack the closest players. Either kill the Banshee before it can scream, or freeze in place while traversing past.
Cyclops - these brute force powerhouses spring from the fel wastes unannounced, killing any that stand in their way. The likelihood of a Cyclops spawning depends on a variety of factors, including player health, whether a player is overweight, and their current defensive bonuses. Cyclops also are much more likely to spawn when more players are clustered together, sometimes appearing in groups to disrupt crowds of players.
Mystery Objects
Scattered around Cambria you will find Mystery Objects. These objects can be attacked to loot the items and valuable resources inside of them. Be on the lookout for vases, crates, and more as you adventure.
Lighting and Torches

Players' adventures are heavily influenced by lighting. As players explore, they will find some areas are more well lit than others. Low light conditions amplify the danger, making both players and enemies deal more damage. Torches provide much needed light, mitigating some of the risks associated with darkness, but only for the torch bearer. Torches can be crafted at a Crafting Bench or purchased from the Armory shop.
Movement & Portals

There are several ways to shorten your journey across the world of Cambria. These include Gate Scrolls, Obelisks, and special NPCs.
Obelisks require you to exchange Coins to teleport to another Obelisk on the map. They are located in several locations and can help you quickly traverse to specific areas of the map.
Players can use Gate Teleport Scrolls to create portals to the Capital City or New Mortis. Activating a scroll creates a portal that teleports players to the city specified by the scroll. Only one portal can exist per player at a time and they expire after 15 minutes. Portals can be destroyed by anyone. Central Portals in city centers allow players to teleport back to their placed portal, refreshing its timer. Be aware, using teleport scrolls without being adept in magic could lead to being dealt significant damage - the higher your magic level, the less likely it is for this to happen.
Special Teleportation NPCs include
Vernon, south of the Bank - teleports to the Luminescent Ore mine (see Chargecrafting (Update!)
Scotty, east of the Capital near the Sawmill - teleports to the Abandoned Village, a skilling hub
Barricades

Barricades can be crafted from Planks (created from Logs at the Sawmill outside the Capital and the Abandoned Village). When used from the Inventory, the player can place a Barricade where they stand, that blocks movement. Only 10 barricades can be set up per player. Barricades can be destroyed by other players, either by attacking it or lighting it on fire (requires 40 crafting). Players can destroy their own barricades instantly at any time. Barricades give Engineering XP and are part of the Engineering skill.
Shops

There are a total of 13 shops scattered throughout the World Map, mostly around Cities and Settlements. Shopkeepers can sell you their wares for Coins. Different shopkeepers have different types of items and equipment for sale.
Earning Coins
Coins are earned via a variety of sources in the game - mainly from monster loot, mystery objects, and selling items to the General Store or on the Trading Post.
