# Marks

**Marks** are engravings of forgotten power left behind by the Ancients who carved them into obsidian tablets, now found in the Ruined Dungeons deep beneath the overworld. Though their origins are mysterious, the masses of ever-desparate adventurers have begun to **attune** these dark artifacts, bending their corrupted magic into combat power, utility, and defensive advantages during Expeditions.

Marks are TRADEABLE buffs dropped from Ruined Dungeon chests. TL;DR:

* Attuning activates the Mark’s power and gives you its buff (can only be done in Safe Zones)
* Players can equip up to three Marks at once
* Unattuning turns the Mark back into a **tradable item** that you can sell or trade with other players.
* Categorized into 4 categories: PvM, PvP, Hybrid, or Utility

Choosing the **right combination** is a core part of Gold Rush's tactical / strategic gameplay.
