"Power is not taken. It is delegated, taxed, and made profitable." — A Viceroy’s Maxim

Viceroys are guild leaders who command powerful guilds of adventurers, mercenaries, and gatherers. These Old World aristocrats directly fund their guild members by supplying Charters, Energy, and critical gear in exchange for a pre-negotiated cut of the rewards. Viceroys compete for dominance over the Royal Favor Leaderboards and fight proxy wars through their guilds.

Getting Started

Viceroys gain their status via the following ways:

  • Holding a Cambria Founder NFT, OR

  • Own a Tier 3+ Charter

Viceroys can:

  • Create a named Guild

  • Invite or kick members at will

  • Promote members to Captain or Patron

Charter Slots & Sponsorship

🎟️ Charter Slots

  • Each deposited T1 Charter into the Guild unlocks 1 Guild Slot for a Free-to-Play (F2P) player.

  • Sponsored Players occupy these slots and share their Royal Favor earnings with the Viceroy based on a negotiable split.

  • If a Sponsored Player leaves or is kicked, they revert to F2P status with all normal gameplay restrictions.

👜 Non-Sponsored Members

  • Players who own their own Charter do not take up a slot.

  • They may join a guild freely and still share Royal Favor with the Viceroy in exchange for perks (e.g., steady Energy Orb supply).

Reward Splits

Guild Invite Configuration

⚖️ Split Mechanics

  • Viceroys set a custom earnings Split % per member, when inviting members to Guild

  • Max Viceroy fee is 95% (the invited member must receive at least 5% of the rewards)

  • Min Viceroy fee is 5% (the invited member cannot receive more than 95% of the rewards)

  • On cash-in of Corrupted Loot, Coins and Royal Favor from Corrupted Loot is auto-split between the player and the Guild

👑 Patron Role

  • A Patron is a Guild member who receives a share of Royal Favor without occupying a Charter slot (i.e., not a Sponsored Player) by contributing Charters and Energy Orbs to the Guild Chest.

  • Patrons are essentially "investors" in the Guild who are brought in to fund the Guild's expenses for an equal split of the rewards.

  • The Guild Leader is always a Patron.

  • Patrons split the Viceroy's portion based on Total Contribution Score (ETH value of Charters & Orbs deposited into Guild Chest)

📊 Contribution Tracking

Each Patron receives Contribution Points:

  • +0.01 per Charter Slot they’ve enabled via Charter deposit (based on 0.01 ETH value of T1 Charters)

  • +0.0012 per Energy Orb deposited to the Guild Chest (based on 0.0012 ETH value of Energy Orbs)

The total Royal Favor generated via Split is distributed pro-rata amongst all Patrons, including the Guild Leader.

Reduced Paymaster Taxes

Guilds are ranked on a Rolling 24hr Leaderboard ingame that tracks the Total Royal Favor earned by all its members. Guilds that are currently at the top of this leaderboard pay less in cash-in taxes to Paymasters, due to the influence and power of the Guild on New Cambria affairs.

Guilds pay between 4-13% (default is 13%) in Paymaster taxes, based on their rolling 24hr ranking:

As a quick summary:

  • Rank 1–5 pay 4% → 8%

  • Rank 10 pays about 10.6%

  • Rank 20 pays ~12.5%

  • Rank 30+ are essentially at 13% tax

Guild Leaderboard

Guild's Rolling 24hr rankings (for purposes of calculating Reduced Paymaster Taxes) are based on Total Royal Favor earnings that are split to the Guild. A player that only splits 5% of their earnings to the Guild, for example, will only count for 5% when it comes to their contribution to the Guild Rolling 24hr rank.

The final Top Guild Leaderboard (see Rewards) does not factor in the guild vs player split, and is based on the total royal favor earnings by members of the guild.

  • All guild access is revoked immediately upon exit.

Strategy

Guild management is an economic minigame of trust, control, and output optimization.

Viceroys are incentivized to:

  • Sponsor the most efficient adventurers

  • Monitor activity

  • Adjust splits based on performance

  • Prevent defection or sabotage

Even though Viceroys split the returns from their Charter and Orb investments with the adventurers that they sponsor, they benefit from the following:

  • Higher placement on the Total Royal Favor Leaderboard (Rolling 24hr Multipliers)

  • Guild Chest resource sharing allows for more efficient early game snowballing

  • Guild coordination to monopolize resources (e.g. Void chargecrafting altars)

  • Guild coordination to tackle tough Bosses, and the World Boss / Guild Stronghold events

  • Guilds usually target the best players to maximize their earnings

  • Paymaster tax reduction
