Season 2: The Paymasters

Cambria’s much anticipated Season 2 is almost here, and we’re excited to have you with us as we gear up for one of our biggest releases to date.

⚔️ What is Cambria?

Cambria is a risk-to-earn MMO with onchain stakes.

In Gold Rush (our primary game mode), you compete with thousands of other adventurers to extract a fortune from the remnants of a land devastated by an unexplained disaster. Every step outside the safe zones of the Capital City is a calculated risk to acquire Artifacts, Curios, and Gems - items that can be cashed in at the Royal Treasury for Royal Favor and Coins.

Key Features:

  • Risk-to-Earn - players risk their onchain assets (high risk) for high reward. PvP is a fundamental part of gameplay - hunting down and robbing other players, hoarding resources, manipulating markets, and more.

  • Player-driven Economy - almost all of the weapons, armor, etc. in game are crafted by players, powering a dynamic in-game economy that includes a native in-game auction house, p2p trading, mailbox, shops, etc.

  • Real Specialization - chart your own path to dominance in the in-game economy by choosing the skills and combat specializations that you want to master. carve out your niche as a famed smith, a power gatherer, or crafty engineer, or any combination of the above.

🤑 What are the Rewards?

Cambria S2 rewards both USDC (prize pool) and token airdrop (airdrop crates) through “Bribes” — giving players exposure to both liquid and long-term upside.

  • Points Leaderboard (AIRDROP)

    • Earn “Bribes”

      • Bribes are Lootboxes that can be opened for Trinkets (Cambria Airdrop points)

      • Players can also win NFT raffle Tickets for our upcoming Land NFT collection

    • $1.2m+ (estimated Token value) in Airdrop rewards.

      • Potentially higher if main prize pool exceeds $1m - will allocate more of token

    • Bribes can be earned through playing the game, running a guild, or passively.

  • Main Prize Pool (USDC)

    • 90% of all ETH / RON spent on game assets in Season 2 will be added to the Main Prize Pool. This prize pool grows the more players join and continuously play and backs the season’s in-game Coins economy.

      • TL;DR - Earning Coins in game ⇒ direct USDC payout at the end of the season

      • Coins are liquid during the season - players can OTC trade coins with each other

      • We expect to have a $750k+ (projection, based on Season 1 data) Prize Pool by the end of the Season (2 week season)

      • There are natural growth loops built into this economy - the bigger the prize pool gets, the more people are incentivized to spend and risk more to capture a bigger share of this prize pool

    • The remaining 10% is allocated for Critical Bug bounties and Content Creators

👀 What’s New in Season 2?

Season 2: The Paymasters introduces two major new roles — and a darker economic layer:

🪙 The Paymasters (New Idle Role)

  • Players can become Paymasters by depositing Royal Charters (0.01ETH each) into the Syndicate Vault, earning ETH and in-game rewards passively.

  • Every new Charter purchase and solo player Loot cash-in triggers taxes distributed to Paymasters.

  • It’s an idle speculation role — profit through chaos, and let other players bleed for your gain.

🏰 Viceroys & Guilds (New Active Strategy Role)

  • Players who deposit 10+ Charters (or hold a Cambria Founder NFT) can become Viceroys, elite guild leaders who:

    • Sponsor F2P players using their Charter slots (think Axie “scholars” model)

    • Split Royal Favor earnings from guild members

    • Control shared Guild Chests, set custom split percentages, and manage officers

    • Compete for top leaderboard spots (that give additional multiplier boosts on earnings)

  • It’s a game of strategy, resource control, and trust - or betrayal.

Paymasters and Viceroys (Guild Leaders) are directly opposed → the more dominant the Guilds become, the more of the final Prize Pool they will win, at the expense of Paymasters. Paymasters only take taxes on Solo Player cash-ins

Other Season 2 Updates:

  • Massively Expanded World - 6 regions, 78 unique zones, ranging from safe to extremely dangerous

  • New Bosses, Mobs + World Boss

  • New Fatigue System, 4+ new Affliction types

  • Expanded PvP - new weapons, mechanics, armors, and more

FAQ ❓

  • How do I start playing and earning?

    • Mint a Royal Charter (0.02 ETH) and you can start earning in game. Royal Charters regen a daily amount of Energy per day. Energy is burned on a time basis outside safe zones. Higher tier zones have better loot and rewards, but burn more Energy. Energy Orbs (0.003 ETH) can be purchased to separately replenish Energy.

  • Is Cambria F2P?

    • Players can play a limited F2P trial but will be economy locked (cannot transfer value) on the account until they mint a Royal Charter

  • Is Cambria still in Early Access?

    • Yes — Gold Rush is still in early development and runs in limited seasonal cycles. Each season is a live economy test with real stakes and community-driven outcomes.

  • Isn’t Cambria the gambling game?

    • You’re probably thinking of Duel Arena - where players stake ETH on 1v1 duels to the death. Duel Arena is a minigame inside of Cambria that’s currently separate from Gold Rush.
