# Patch Notes: Day 12
## Hearthfire Armor + Axe
The Hearthfire Armor and Axe set is a unique armor set that deals more damage the lower HP you are, up to 810+ max hits. The full set + 2handed axe must be equipped for this to trigger. Your character will flash bright white when below 35% health.
The Hearthfire set is available in the Armory (Sousin). The Axe has an attack speed of 2.2 seconds (higher than any weapon except the Greataxe) and an armor penetration value of 80%.
## Balance Changes
* Bearhide Armor - Magic Def reduced from 113 to **76**
* Dragonhide Armor - Magic Def reduced from 163 to **113**
* Obsidian Armor - Melee Def increased from 172 to **202**, Ranged Def increased from 186 to **192**
* Monster Reward Index increased from 1.05x to **1.1x**
## Arcane Research
You can now invest Silver into Arcane Research to unlock the hidden potential of Tier 5 (Occultist's) Staves, empowering their magical abilities with ever-increasing damage and attack speed. Every research level unlocks additional bonuses, with the silver cost increasing exponentially for each level.
To access the Arcane Research screen, click on the Crystal Statue left of the Royal Treasury (Ser Althus).
