# How to Start

## Mint a Royal Charter (0.02 ETH / \~53 RON) :scroll:

You can also try the game out first as a F2P player!

To earn rewards in game, you must first **mint at least 1 Royal Charter**.

A Royal Charter is a "battle pass" that provides you with a daily regenerating supply of :zap:**Energy,** for free. Energy is required to do most activities that generate coins - killing monsters, extracting resources, etc. Energy drains every few seconds while you are outside the safe zones. Higher tier regions burn more energy, but also have the higher tier monsters and resources with higher reward potential (increased risk = increased rewards).

You do not need a charter if you are sponsored by a [Guild](/gold-rush-s2/season-2-the-paymasters/guilds.md) (who purchases one on your behalf).

{% hint style="info" %}
**What can I do as F2P?**

Without a Royal Charter, you can only play until your starting energy (30k) runs out. You also cannot transfer any value to other players, so your earnings and progress will be locked until you purchase a charter, or until you are sponsored by a guild. Think of it as a "free trial" with locked progress.
{% endhint %}

## Buy more Energy Orbs (0.0015 ETH / \~4 RON) :zap:

Energy Orbs restore **100k energy each** when used. Mint these in-game at any time.

After hitting a daily soft cap (8 orbs), any additional orb usage starts increasing a player's relative energy burn with the **Orb Toxicity** system, reducing energy efficiency and creating diminishing returns for additional farming.
