# Overview

## Overview

**Gold Rush** is a high-stakes game of risk & reward, set in the world of Cambria, where recent discoveries of Gold deposits by early explorers have attracted hordes of adventurers eager to extract a fortune from the remnants of a land devastated by an unexplained disaster. &#x20;

The **Viceroys** of New Cambria, finance these treks into the unknown. Most adventurers do not return, but those who return do so loaded with unimaginable treasures - **Ancient** **Artifacts, Gems,** and **Gold Ore** - items that grant **Royal Favor points** when turned in to the Royal Treasury with a majority of their otherworldly Luster intact.

At the end of each season, players can cash out massive grants of Blast Gold and Ethereum issued directly from the Royal Treasury, based on their Royal Favor points.

## Rewards

For the **GOLD RUSH PLAYTEST #4**, a total of ??? ETH and 332,213 Blast Gold will be split amongst playtesters.  The prize pool will be split as follows:&#x20;

100% - based on <mark style="color:yellow;">**Royal Favor Points**</mark> 👑&#x20;

* Royal Favor Points 👑  are earned by trading in certain items to **Sir Althus** (west of the Bank)&#x20;
  * **Gold Ore** (from Gold Deposits underneath Strongholds)
  * **Artifacts** (dropped from Monsters)&#x20;
  * **Gem Piles** (looted from Treasure Chests)
  * **Curios** (randomly earned while skilling)

Playtesters will also earn **Gold Rush Essence Points** for participating, based on a variety of metrics of performance in game (XP Progression, Royal Favor Earned, etc.)

## Charter Mint

To play the game, you will need to either mint a Royal Charter (0.01E) or get sponsored by another player.  If you get sponsored, you can play for free, and earn 50% of any rewards from the Royal Favor points you earn. All ETH proceeds from Charter Mint gets added to the Prize Pool, and split based on Royal Favor points at the end.

## Time

Gold Rush Playtest #4 will last for 72 hours, from Friday 10am EST to Monday 10am EST. &#x20;

Note: **Gold Rush is still very early in development**.  Please bear with any bugs / imbalances with this playtest - we will try to make this a fair competition but the win qualifications might not work as designed. &#x20;

We have not enabled some of the onchain elements of the Charter system / energy purchases / etc. to maximize the amount of gameplay that can be tested first.  This means that the design of certain game systems will not make sense, given the lack of real stakes.

**If a major imbalance (dupes, exploits) is found**, we will attempt to mitigate this in real time.  If the imbalance is too severe, we may resort to splitting the prize pool in alternative ways amongst participants.  Players that report any critical exploits will be rewarded&#x20;
